What Does it Take

Why do some people get more attention than others? There are people who clearly have an amazing talent yet no one notices them. One can argue it's because they do not put themselves out there but one would be wrong. The arguer would be wrong because he or she simply didn't take the time to notice all the work the talent put into his or her marketing, pr and promotions. The arguer was too busy arguing his or her point to take the time to listen when the talent was speaking. The arguer was too busy complaining about the silly thing that racist said, the talentless did, the person with the bias thought or paying extraordinary amounts of money to the wealthy while complaining that the wealthy are too wealthy.

The ignored is ignored not because he or she wants to be ignored. It's because one wants to ignore the ignored. Where there is no drama there is no interest.

Think of the mass shooter. He could simply kill himself if he was hurting so much he wanted to die. But who would care? Donald J. Trump falls out of the headlines so he runs for president on a racist ticket and wins. Jussie Smollett doesn't get a raise because he isn't known. So, he makes a name for himself. So much so that the white nationalist coast guard who becomes a domestic terrorist with plans to kill American government leaders and popular news media figures; who wrote of his dreams of wiping out mankind to start a white homeland is completely ignored by the public. As if Jussie is much more dangerous than he. I don't even know the man's name.

What does a person need to do to get attention in this world? Take the world over?

Perhaps it's best to sneak under the radar by doing everything in one's power to get attention, but just be a good nondramatic person. Be kind and giving. Be practical and logical. No one will notice when you steal their freedom from them.
